I had the opportunity to sit in on one day (8 hours) of the 40 hour LFI-1 course taught by Massad Ayoob at the Phoenix Rod & Gun Club in south west Phoenix, Arizona in April of 2009. Massad is a prolific writer and internationally known instructor. While the course material is serious and details can be important, Massads in depth knowledge of the subjects and mastery of the skills involved, makes the information easy to absorb and interesting. Mas is also a quick wit and keeps the class interesting and the students listening with humor and a comfortable teaching style

I have been using the Howard Leight Impact Sport for over two years now. My first pair worked for more than a year and then shorted out. When I notified Howard Leight, they replaced them and I am now just over a year on my second set of Impact Sport. The Impact Sport are comfortable, with padded ear cups that offer a 22db noise reduction rating. The ear cups are low profile so they work well with helmets, and while shooting rifles. The Howard Leight Impact Sport electronic hearing protection amplifies low-level ambient sound such as quiet conversation at a distance while offering instant reduction of any potentially damaging sounds. The Howard Leight Impact Sport have a 350-hour battery life on 2 AAA batteries (Batteries are included with the Howard Leight Impact Sport). To save batteries, there is a four-hour auto shut-off which can be distracting at long event and training classes. The Howard Leight Impact Sport has just one control, a power and volume knob. There is also an external plug for audio MP3, 2-way Radio, etc. The Howard Leight Impact Sport can fold together for compact storage. I do not need to replace the set of Howard Leight Impact Sport ear protection I use now, but if I ever did need to replace them I would buy another set... they are that good
